sofa

i have tow leather 3 + 2 seat sofas, they are both dark navy blue and look like the first picture (i didn't photo mine i just found a similar one on the web)
we want to use the frame and change the sofa's look.
the question is if it is possible to make the sofa that it will have separate seating cushions ans back cushions that are not connected to the sofa it self.
i know that maybe it will be easier to buy a new one or to send it to a professional upholsterer but i would like to try it our selves.
also we live in israel so participating in your upholster class is not possible unfortunately ...
for the armrest we want to make it square as possible.
can you please advise me?!
