Upholstery Spring Tie-2
Upholstery spring tie is a very complicated process. This really needs to be a hands on training. I can't show everything online. Please contact me if you would like more detailed instructions on hand tying springs for
upholstery use.

Edge wire is a 1/8" steel wire to hold the outside springs together. It is clipped to each spring, with edge wire clips.

Before I start tying the seat, I temporarily tie down the front row of springs. This gives you a level to tie the other springs to. The height of the front edge wire needs to be 10 1/2" from the bottom of leg which touches the floor.

Cut about an 10' piece of spring twine. Find the center and attach with nails to the back rail behind each row of springs,so you have two 5' pieces. Use one piece for the first tie.

Cover springs with burlap. Then hand sew foxes edge to front edge wire. The front edge needs to be higher then the deck. This fills the gap between the cushion front and the seat front.

Full tie on inside back. Back is only tied 4 ways. Because 8 would make it to stiff.

Burlap on inside back.
