Upholstery Sofa 2
This is where we lost the Upholstery Sofa 2 pictures when the computer went down. In this picture I'm showing the cut out for both ends of the seat. Measure the width of the seat and add 1/2" on both ends for the seam salvage. As you can see I cut a notch out that you fold together and sew. The notch is 5 1/2" each way.

Here is the seat sewn together. The decking is cut into three pieces with two 6" sections of fabric sewn in. This is were the cushion breaks are. The decking is then sewn to the front fabric.

Once you get the seat in possition fold the decking over the front edge. Hand sew the front part of the seat to the burlap behind the seam in the salvage.

Add a layer of cotton behind seam on the deck.

Here I glued dacron to the burlap on the front of the seat. Then filled in behind the fox edge with cotton.

Add another layer of cotton over.
The one thing you will do alot in upholstery is stay tack. This is temporally tacking the fabric in place. Then as you pull and staple the stay tacks are pulled out. This process helps to eliminate wrinkles.

After the seat is done. The nails are added. The hammer has a plastic tip, so the nails won't be damaged.

I took the padding on the arm off to replace the webbing and burlap
I put the old padding back on then added cotton to the top of the arm to fill. Add alayer of dacron over
After you cover the arm, the front is pleated.

Here a close up of how the arm turned out with the nails.

A look at the outside back
I'm sorry but at this point, we lost the rest of the pictures needed to finish. I bought a digital video camera, and will make videos from now on. I know I will be able to show and explain things much better.
